Product Description

We have a very special bond with our pets. They enhance the quality of our lives through companionship, loyalty, social connection and mental wellbeing(1)—and they very often entertain us with their hilarious antics! They completely depend on us to protect their health and quality of life, and it is our privilege to fulfill their needs for food and care.

To optimize nutrition, revitalize hair and coat, stop excessive shedding, promote calmness, improve regularity, and improve general wellbeing, Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Cats provides important nutrients—omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs, soluble and insoluble fiber, enzymes, and phytonutrients—that are missing from or too low in over-processed regular cat foods.* We made sure to exclude all the undesirable ingredients in commercially produced cat foods: cheap carbohydrate-based fillers, preservatives, and artificial additives. We took great care to make Pet Essentials for Cats an all-natural, completely safe, premium supplement formula, with mostly certified organic ingredients to optimize health, wellbeing, and longevity.

In nature, cats eat mostly fresh, whole, raw, organic meats, but domesticated pets are fed mostly over-processed commercial foods—with substantial amounts of cheap starches from grains and corn—that inadequately meet their needs for optimal health. Carbohydrates (sugars and starches) have now been clearly identified as a main cause of overweight and obesity, both in humans and companion animals. It’s no surprise, then, that the greatest health concern pets face today is carrying too much weight: more than 1/3 of all cats are overweight or obese.(2)

As a result of poor pet nutrition, our four-legged feline friends suffer from many health issues, including: digestive problems (including vomiting, diarrhea, hairballs, and intestinal parasites), dental issues, overweight/obesity (which can lead to diabetes, and joint and liver problems), kidney and lower urinary tract problems, proneness to viral and bacterial infections, bone fractures, and immune problems (including cancer).

In addition, the furry members of our households live longer now than they did before.(3) This makes conditions related to aging, such as low energy, osteoarthritis, and neurological dysfunction (vision and cognitive decline similar to Alzheimer disease in humans),(4) more common and of greater concern. Also, as cats get older, their requirement for dietary energy and protein increases.(5)

Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Cats is rich in health-promoting prebiotic fiber. Just like humans, cats get health benefits from dietary fiber.(6) It protects the lining of the digestive tract, increases feeling of fullness and prevents overeating, improves digestion and bowel regularity, and feeds the friendly bacteria (aka gut microbes) that play vital roles in our pets’ health and wellbeing.(7)(8)

WHO IS UDO’S CHOICE® PET ESSENTIALS FOR CATS DESIGNED FOR? From fetal development to advanced age, optimum nutrition is required for health and normal functioning at all stages of the feline life cycle, which means that this supplement is designed for all cats. It is especially important for any cat that: A) gets too little undamaged omega-3s from its foods; B) consumes too many damaged omega-6s; C) can benefit from a wider range of nutrients; D) needs more digestive and urinary tract support; E) suffers from overweight and its downstream effects.*
