Product Description

We have a very special bond with our pets. They enhance the quality of our lives through companionship, loyalty, social connection and mental wellbeing(1)—and they very often entertain us with their hilarious antics! They completely depend on us to protect their health and quality of life, and it is our privilege to fulfill their needs for food and care.

To optimize nutrition, revitalize hair and coat, stop excessive shedding, promote calmness, improve regularity, and improve general wellbeing, Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Cats provides important nutrients—omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs, soluble and insoluble fiber, enzymes, and phytonutrients—that are missing from or too low in over-processed regular cat foods.* We made sure to exclude all the undesirable ingredients in commercially produced cat foods: cheap carbohydrate-based fillers, preservatives, and artificial additives. We took great care to make Pet Essentials for Cats an all-natural, completely safe, premium supplement formula, with mostly certified organic ingredients to optimize health, wellbeing, and longevity.

In nature, cats eat mostly fresh, whole, raw, organic meats, but domesticated pets are fed mostly over-processed commercial foods—with substantial amounts of cheap starches from grains and corn—that inadequately meet their needs for optimal health. Carbohydrates (sugars and starches) have now been clearly identified as a main cause of overweight and obesity, both in humans and companion animals. It’s no surprise, then, that the greatest health concern pets face today is carrying too much weight: more than 1/3 of all cats are overweight or obese.(2)

As a result of poor pet nutrition, our four-legged feline friends suffer from many health issues, including: digestive problems (including vomiting, diarrhea, hairballs, and intestinal parasites), dental issues, overweight/obesity (which can lead to diabetes, and joint and liver problems), kidney and lower urinary tract problems, proneness to viral and bacterial infections, bone fractures, and immune problems (including cancer).

In addition, the furry members of our households live longer now than they did before.(3) This makes conditions related to aging, such as low energy, osteoarthritis, and neurological dysfunction (vision and cognitive decline similar to Alzheimer disease in humans),(4) more common and of greater concern. Also, as cats get older, their requirement for dietary energy and protein increases.(5)

Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Cats is rich in health-promoting prebiotic fiber. Just like humans, cats get health benefits from dietary fiber.(6) It protects the lining of the digestive tract, increases feeling of fullness and prevents overeating, improves digestion and bowel regularity, and feeds the friendly bacteria (aka gut microbes) that play vital roles in our pets’ health and wellbeing.(7)(8)

WHO IS UDO’S CHOICE® PET ESSENTIALS FOR CATS DESIGNED FOR? From fetal development to advanced age, optimum nutrition is required for health and normal functioning at all stages of the feline life cycle, which means that this supplement is designed for all cats. It is especially important for any cat that: A) gets too little undamaged omega-3s from its foods; B) consumes too many damaged omega-6s; C) can benefit from a wider range of nutrients; D) needs more digestive and urinary tract support; E) suffers from overweight and its downstream effects.*

INGREDIENTS: Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Cats contains the following composition: Not less than 25% protein; not less than 10% fat; not more than 8% fiber; not more than 10% moisture. For best results: Double daily amount for 60 days, add 1/4 teaspoon of Udo’s Oil® 3·6·9 Blend, and mix content of 1 capsule of Udo’s Choice® Advance Adult Probiotics Blend in food (the feline microbiome is similar to that of the human gut).(8)

The change in my cats coats, demeanor, appetite has been nothing short of phenomenal. They have been on this since they were a year old-love this product and the ethical company it comes from.

  2. Kimmy

Introducing this product into your cats diet is like introducing new food. Slow and steady wins the race.

You HAVE to go slow, upping the dose little by little till you get to about a teaspoon. This is a vegetarian product and doesn’t have any meat in it to entice a cat to eat it. My cat would avoid her food after I attempted to give her a full teaspoon the first time. After giving her time to adjust, she eats with the same vigor she always has. I’ve found that she likes it better mixed with wet food rather than dry with olive oil. This product has a lot of good detox herbs, omega 3 and 6’s, veggies, enzymes and has some vitamins, AND minerals. Did I mention it’s organic, too?

Have used Pet Essentials for Cats for about 6 years – great comprehensive supplement, from quality brand. Thx!

  4. PJMadison

Great item, use it all the time for my cats.

  5. Wen

My Cat is 17 and has a very picky palate but he seems to like this and now will not eat his food without it. My cat is diabetic and can only eat wet food that has little fillers in it, we tried some joint supplement powder but that ended up making him ill. This was recommended by a friend with an elderly cat and WOW is all I can say. His digestive system is working better, less fur ball issues and no constipation like before. It has no fishy odor. I recommend highly.

  6. Becky W

My cat is a picky eater, really only likes fish based canned food and he LOVES this addition. If I don’t put it in, he doesn’t eat as much. I expected I would have to sneak it in but I don’t. He really likes it!

  7. R. Guiles

This is like a miracle drug for my cats. My older cat magically started acting more energetic like his younger self after taking this. It didn’t take long to notice the difference, one-two doses.

  8. Richard

We give this to our 9 cats and have never had a problem with them eating it. This has cut down on a vomiting issue most of them had and has also made a bad breath issue go away that 3 of them had. We sprinkle it on their food and they don’t seem to know it is even there.

  9. Betsy

My cat has special needs – she eats home cooked food which I supplement with Udo. Besides her chronic condition she is otherwise healthy. She cannot eat canned food.

  10. Jen

This is a very good multi vitamin powder. I have a rescue cat from a severely abusive home and when the animal shelter took him he was nearly starved to death with horrible mats everywhere in his fur. He was brought up to weight but still had “dead” fur on his belly, tail and neck. After I started giving him a half of the recommended dose in his daily scoop of soft food (he tolerates the taste with that amount in is treat) it only took literally 3 days for me to start noticing a difference, his energy level went up, his fur is softer and shinier and he seems more relaxed and feeling better in general. I am not a vet, but as a pet owner I definitely recommend this product. I like that it is all natural! It must be stored in the fridge after opening.

  11. Pat Kennedy

I have had the pleasure of personnally meeting Udo, the maker of this product. His story explains the very high quality of this product. My cats LOVE the taste. Their coats are silky soft. Their overall health has improved dramatically.

  12. satisfied shopper

Cats aren’t fond of it but they will eat it mixed in well. Coats have never been shinier and my cat with flea allergies has grown almost all his hair back! Great stuff.

  13. J.U.

I’ve been cooking for my cat since a couple of months ago, but I just learned recently that certain supplements need to be added to his food in order to ensure my cat gets all the nutrition he needs. I bought Udo’s Choice because it is one of the three brands that a YouTuber I follow recommended, and this brand has higher reviews and also a more affordable price.

After 7 days of taking this supplement two times daily, my cat’s fur has become significantly softer. A healthy coat is a good indication of a cat’s well being! I’ll definitely keep giving my cat this supplement.

  14. Sarah

Excellent quality and the cats love this component of their homemade food!
