Product Description

We have a very special bond with our pets. They enhance the quality of our lives through companionship, loyalty, social connection and mental wellbeing(1), and they very often entertain us with their hilarious antics! They completely depend on us to protect their health and quality of life, and it is our privilege to fulfill their needs for food and care.

To optimize nutrition, revitalize hair and coat, stop excessive shedding, promote calmness, improve regularity, and improve general wellbeing, Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Dogs provides important nutrients—omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs, soluble and insoluble fiber, enzymes, and phytonutrients—that are missing from or too low in over-processed regular dog foods.* We made sure to exclude all the undesirable ingredients in commercially produced dog foods: cheap carbohydrate-based fillers, preservatives, and artificial additives. We took great care to make Pet Essentials for Dogs an all-natural, completely safe, premium supplement formula, with mostly certified organic ingredients to optimize health, wellbeing, and longevity.

In nature, dogs eat fresh, whole, raw, organic foods, but domesticated pets are fed mostly over-processed commercial foods—with substantial amounts of cheap starches from grains and corn—that inadequately meet their needs for optimal health. Carbohydrates (sugars and starches) have now been clearly identified as a main cause of overweight and obesity, both in humans and companion animals. It’s no surprise, then, that the greatest health concern pets face today is carrying too much weight: just over a 1/3 of all dogs are overweight or obese.(2)

As a result of poor pet nutrition, our four-legged canine friends suffer from many health issues, including: skin and hair conditions, ear infections, digestive problems (including vomiting, diarrhea, and intestinal parasites), dental issues, overweight/obesity (which can lead to diabetes and liver problems), proneness to viral, bacterial, and fungal infections, and immune problems (including cancer).

In addition, the furry members of our households live longer now than they did before.(3) This makes conditions related to aging, such as low energy, stiffness and joint problems, osteoarthritis, and neurological dysfunction (vision and cognitive decline similar to Alzheimer disease in humans)(4) more common and of greater concern.

Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Dogs is rich in health-promoting prebiotic fiber. Just like humans, dogs get many health benefits from dietary fiber. It protects the lining of the digestive tract, increases feeling of fullness and prevents overeating, improves digestion and bowel regularity, and feeds the friendly bacteria (aka gut microbes) that play vital roles in our pets’ health and wellbeing.(5)(6)

WHO IS UDO’S CHOICE® PET ESSENTIALS FOR DOGS DESIGNED FOR? From fetal development to advanced age, optimum nutrition is required for health and normal functioning at all stages of the canine life cycle, which means this supplement is designed for all dogs. It is especially important for any dog that: A) gets too little undamaged omega-3s from its foods; B) consumes too many damaged omega-6s; C) can benefit from a wider range of nutrients; D) needs more digestive and urinary tract support; E) suffers from overweight and its negative side effects.*

INGREDIENTS: Udo’s Choice® Pet Essentials for Dogs contains the following composition: Not less than 25% protein; not less than 10% fat; not more than 8% fiber; not more than 10% moisture. For best results: Add 1/2–1 teaspoon of Udo’s Oil® 3·6·9 Blend, and mix content of 1-2 capsules of Udo’s Choice® Advance Adult Probiotics Blend in food (the canine microbiome is similar to that of the human gut).(7)

I bought this product after reading good reviews from other folks using this product for their furry friends. We adopted a 10 year old Boston about 4mos ago…and noticed right off that she was eating her poop!! Ordered this product, and happy to say that after 3 mos of using this product she hardly ever has any interest to eat her poop. So this product must be working!!!

Love this stuff!!…….my 11yr Boston plays like a pup with his 6yr half brother…..coats are gleaming……good poops..its..great stuff!!….I also cook chicken for them and they get organic baby food…..spinach carrots pumpkin and apples….plain Greek yogurt too….plenty of sun and fun and fresh filtered water….❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️lots of love

  3. Sandy

We use lots of lightly cooked and raw meats around here. After the food has cooled down, I sprinkle this super powder on top. Both my girls like this one, where some others they won’t touch. It helps make their coats shiney, and that is sometimes difficult with black coats.

  4. B. Pruett

I add this essential multivitamin/supplement to my homemade dog food to ensure she gets what she needs. I’ve used this product for years and highly recommend it. It comes as a powder so it’s best combined with wet food.

My yellow lab, Jesse, is 10 & had a really bad year last year; he almost died from an acute pancreatitis infection that he possibly got from eating something toxic while hiking – word on the street is that other dogs suffered simularly from eating goose poop …
Anyway, his pancreas will never be completely functioning again so I use Udo’s because it has lipase & amylase, 2 enzymes made in our pancreas to help digest food, and basically I’m helping Jesse’s digestion with additional enzymes.

A year ago I adopted an underweight chihuahua mix who had required surgery, as well. He lacked interest in food, and his bowel movements were loose and seemed quite tortured for him , to say the least. He would barely eat one small meal per day. I started him and my other dog who had his gall bladder removed on Udo’s , and very quickly his little digestive system has normalized. He is so excited to eat at every meal now that he barks and dances, and his stool is very healthy. My other dog loves it , too, and these are supplements I take for myself( not the pet blend). They both now have good health and strong constitutions, and I would never be without Udo’s.

I learned about Pet Essentials almost 4 years ago when one of our beagles was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer. It was suggested as a very good supplement for ailing and healthy dogs. We added Pet Essentials to all the beagles food and noted the difference in less gas, better stool, improved skin and coat. Sadly, we did have to say good bye to Jack, who was only expected to live a month post diagnosis, but lived for 4 more months. We have continued to give our dogs Pet Essentials to keep good gut, skin and coat health!

  8. Tim

We put this in a shaker and shake it on our dogs raw/dry food 2x a day and have done this for years. They used to itch every spring and they don’t anymore, plus their coats are super shiny.

  9. Somya

I LOVE this for my dogs. All my dogs are from a shelter and so whenever they came, they were all in poor health which was clearly seen in their skin/coat condition. I bought this product and along with 100% home-cooked vegan, organic, fresh food, I was able to revive their health in no time. This I would add to their favorite evening ‘snack’ – almond milk + Udo’s Choice Pet Essentials = their fun time! Voila! And all my dogs drink it up in no time. It did help with their energy and coats. I also give my dogs lots of different kind of oils – so for cooking their food, I use organic, UN-refined coconut oil and then for supplement I give them Udo’s omega oils. Therefore, this product is a great supplement to add as it contains organic seeds which are necessary for energy, eye/brain health, skin etc. I love this product and will keep using as long as I have dogs – which is my whole life! One can find this easily in health food stores like Whole Foods but I buy in bulk via online retailers like luckyvitamin.com.

I started giving this to my dog for hips when he was 10. He was 90lbs and it seemed to make a big difference in his mobility. He was 15 when he passed. I now give it to 4 year old.

  12. azon

Wonderful product. Easy to add. I give my 5 yr old dog twice a day, I mix it with broth and add it to her homemade food.

  13. David

    good product

  14. M. Miller

I’ve been feeding my dogs Udo’s Choice Pet Essentials for decades, and it is a great product. It has organic ingredients, which I feel good about feeding my dog.

  15. Pat

We have used this product for many years. It is beneficial in so many ways. I always sprinkle it on our dogs’ breakfast. I’ve seen it turn a dull coat to shiney. And I am sure it prevents itchiness.
I’m convinced it’s a good idea to give it to dogs daily for all sorts of reasons.

  16. Autumn

I keep this on stock My 12 year old GSP has inflammation of stomach lining diagnosed from upper GI scope by DVM unknown cause. He has lyme and fatty tumors developing all over him ( not cancer) I have been preparing his meals for 4 yrs He cannot tolerate any manufactured dog food no matter how organic, RX, or pricey it claims to be. I have had to use other natural things as well But Udo’s Essentials for dogs was the first product I grabbed 4 yrs ago and was amazed how well it worked for him. I highly recommend dog owners to try this. and get your dogs off the manufactured dog foods as much as possible.

  17. Nip

There is nothing to dislike. I have recommended this to many people who swear their dogs are then cured of skin problems. It is the best product for dogs!

  18. Linda

I feed my two cocker spaniels 50% human grade dry food and 50% homemade. I add this product to the homemade for added nutritional support

  21. W. Wing

My dog has been using this product for many years. She is 7 years old now. This product helps bring natural healthy shine to her coat and she is able to produce healthy end product (poo poo :)). She has been very healthy except routine shots.
